Discussion:
Stronglight Triple Bolts - new vs. old
(too old to reply)

Anyone know if newer Stronglight triple bolts (model?) will fit
an older Stronglight crank (model 93) ? I'm trying to build up a
triple from a double.

There are plenty of TA triple bolts around, but the diameter is a
little different so those are out.

Thanks,

The triple chainring bolts on my 22-year old Stronglight 99 tandem crankset
are the same as the triple chainring bolts on the Stronglight Escape
crankset I bought last year.

Thanks Nick. That would probably cover it then. I'm building a 93,
not a 99, but I would think they used the same bolt and head
diameter.

The next question would be: Anyone know any USA sources for
Stronglight components (I know about xxcycle.com, but I'd prefer
a US based source if I can find one - saves on freight and time).

Thanks,
Bob

I have a feeling that Harris Cyclery is a source. At least, the last
time I bought genuine 122 bcd stronglight rings, they were a source,
and they shipped the rings the next day ...

I'll have to look into that. THey only list the TA parts at the
web site but it's worth a phone call.

You can also use Sugino's triple-ring bolt set. They are cheap, high quality,
commonly available, standard diameter, and (like the Stronglights) even come
with 3.5mm spacers for the inner ring.
